Why go to a therapist?

You want a change! Sometimes in life we experience stressors that motivate us to take action. Therapists help us to handle any event that comes up in our life, and allows us the space to discover our inner feelings. A therapist is trained to provide you with a safe space for you to open up and begin to work on yourself. Instead of a friend or family member, a therapist provides a non-judgmental environment for you to process your emotions.

What kind of therapist do I choose?

One that works best for you! Therapy should be a safe space for you to feel comfortable and relaxed to express your inner feelings and not feel judged. Despite the credentials of your therapist, if you do not have a connection therapy won’t work. The biggest asset you can have is a therapist you can be open and honest with.

What makes therapy successful?

In short, you! You get as much out of therapy as you put in. Therapy is a process and takes work on the part of the therapist and the client. Therapy works by guiding you to find the answers you already have inside. However, therapy does not last only for the 45 minutes you see your therapist. The success comes when you bring those skills outside your therapists office and begin to live the changes.

How do I prepare for my first session?

Come in as yourself! Be honest, open and willing to experience new feelings. Bring questions to find out if your expectations of therapy are valid and realistic. Know what it is you want to work on. Your first session is a chance for you to assess your therapist and build rapport. Take the advantage of the opportunity!

What insurance do you accept?

Good Faith Estimate

The No Surprises Act (H.R. 133) effective January 1, 2022, requires that health care providers provide a Good Faith Estimate to every new and established patient who is either seeking treatment as a self-pay patient or is considered out-of-network with a provider. If you do not have insurance, or have chosen not to use your insurance, as of January 1, 2022, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate. The Good Faith Estimate will be provided to you in writing to explain what the cost of your services will be. If you receive a bill that is more than $400 than your Good Faith Estimate, you have a right to dispute the bill. You may contact your provider to discuss the charges, ask to update the bill to match the Good Faith Estimate, or ask to negotiate the bill. The Good Faith Estimate is not a contract and does not require you to receive services from the provider. To learn more about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 1-800-985-3059.
